Mother Road Brewing Company is proud to release Tower Station IPA – their first beer to be released in cans. Tower Station IPA will be available on draft and in 16 ounce cans in mid-September. Tower Station is an unfiltered IPA that greets you with a copper-orange hue and fluffy white head, releasing aromas of tangerine and pineapple. Pilsner and Pale malts balance hop-derived flavors of grapefruit peel and pine to finish the journey.
Mother Road continues their tradition of choosing beer names celebrating historic Route 66. Parched motorists on Route 66 anticipated hospitality at Tower Station, a service station and restaurant on Route 66 opened in 1936.
Production Manager and Brewer Campbell Morrissey says, “The goal for Tower Station was not to try and replicate the finely crafted and well regarded IPAs of San Diego and the Pacific Northwest, but to make an IPA that would compliment their shelf space. Instead of resiny and dank, we focused on drawing out the tropical fruit flavors of Citra hops and balancing them with a subtle, yet complex grain bill. I figured why try to out-compete the best when we had the opportunity to carve our own niche.”
To enhance the enjoyment of Tower Station’s distinctive aroma and flavor, Mother Road has chosen to utilize a 16 ounce convertible can – the entire top is removable. Beer lovers can “drop the top” leaving them with an aluminum pint glass.
